Hey Gang, I wrote a blog post about this question that I have had quite a bit over the last two weeks from goalies (and skaters) who want to know if they can double their training or add some extra 40-minute jogs to their training so it will be harder. You can read all about my opinion of off-ice goalie training quality vs. quantity...or you can just watch the video below with my response.

At the Jr. Level of hockey, it is tryout season once again. There are countless open tryout camps for almost every Jr. team on the planet. So how do you pick the right tryouts to go to and the right teams to play for?

Wanted to share a basic foundation workout for the early off-season today. It addresses those tight hip flexors, teaches the groins to lengthen under tension, helps establish power application and deceleration mechanics and gives you some good functional stability exercises. Enjoy!

You have all been in this situation (on one side of the conversation or the other) - a guy comes into the locker room and tells you about the 'crazy, killer, wicked' workout they did the other day. The started with burpees until they barfed, then they did crazy hoppy push-up thingies until they could actually see blood coursing through the capillaries in their eyes, then finished it with 34 pull ups (but they could only actually do 4, so they hung off the bar and just kicked their legs around for 43 seconds).
